CURRENT OPEN POSITIONS

DDB is seeking a responsible, self-motivated experienced architect for full-time employment. We are looking for an individual who is not only CAD-proficient and detail-oriented, but who also listens to and contributes to a creative design dialogue, and who likes to experiment with new ideas and materials. The candidate must be able to take direction and as well as work independently as needed. They will also need to be a team player and take responsibility for work assigned. Curiosity, resourcefulness & self-motivation are essential.

The Design Director-Architect reports directly to the Principal in the architecture studio with support from other Project Managers and Job Captains.

DETAILS

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Design and drafting of architectural documents, running from Schematic Design to Construction Documentation
  • Management of complete architectural projects, including document control, client interaction, and construction administration
  • Management of project delivery timelines
  • Management of diverse teams of in-house staff, consultants, and vendors to complete projects
  • Facilitation of permits and other municipal approvals
  • Development of project presentation materials with the support of design staff, including finished project renderings and diagrams
  • Coordination with construction managers and site staff to facilitate procurement and construction processes
  • Feasibility research and code reviews for architectural and construction projects
  • Working with Principal on supervision of design staff on select projects
  • Development and oversight of in-house standards and quality control processes to improve level of project documentation

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prof. Master’s Degree in Architecture, licensed in CA preferred
  • Leadership Position in CA-based firm
  • Proficiency in AutoCad, SketchUp,  & Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Detailed oriented, collaborative, and organized

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.ARCH or M.ARCH required
  • 2-5 years of work experience in architecture
  • Take projects from schematic design to detailed renderings
  • Working with the Principal and team members to prepare 2D and 3D design documents (CAD, hand drawing, SketchUp modeling)
  • Creating, editing, and managing construction drawing sets
  • Collaborating with the Principal on design direction
  • Research and specify materials and systems with a focus on aesthetics and budget
  • Proficiency in AutoCad, SketchUp,  & Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Detailed oriented, collaborative, and organized

DDB is looking for a visionary designer who is passionate about innovative design & efficient building practices.  They will participate in a positive, young work atmosphere where they will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects and project types from schematic design to full project submittal and construction. Design Draw Build is seeking several experienced Carpenters to join our team!

DETAILS

  • Employment type:  Full-Time 40 Hours per week
  • Compensation: ($25-40/hr) DOE based on skill level

JOB DUTIES

  • Read and interpret plans with an ability to identify and troubleshoot issues
  • Streamline methods of construction for cost efficiency and quality
  • This position is for a working foreman – Belted
  • Must have personal tools including all hand tools
  • Maintain schedule, alert project manager of any change
  • Generate supplies and materials lists
  • Perform any and all carpentry needs on site
  • Maintain clean and organized job site

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read and understand architectural & engineering plans and specificstions
  • Be a self-starter and able to work with minimum structure + supervisions
  • Knowledge of construction practices and procedures
  • Ability to follow instructions in English
  • Must have a CA driver’s license and own truck
  • Knowledge of Building materials and methods
  • Detail oriented, collaborative, and highly-organized
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis, including lifting ~100 pounds
