FOREVER GRATEFUL
Design Draw Build collaborated with BRAVE Design, Third Rail Projects, and Haight Street Art Center to bring Forever Grateful to life at the Hall of Flowers in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. In collaboration with San Francisco Recreation and Parks, the exhibition transformed the historic County Fair Building into an immersive environment celebrating the enduring cultural legacy of the Grateful Dead.
Bringing together historic artifacts, experiential installations, interactive technologies, visual art, and live performance, the exhibition invited visitors to move beyond observing history and become part of it. Anchored by the original Furthur bus of Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters, the space offered a multi-sensory journey through the music, art, and counterculture that shaped generations.
Working alongside an interdisciplinary team of designers, artists, and producers, DDB contributed construction expertise and hands-on collaboration to realize the exhibition's ambitious creative vision. The project demanded close coordination between creative design and physical execution, helping transform a historic public venue into a dynamic, temporary environment for discovery, participation, and community.
Forever Grateful celebrated San Francisco's cultural heritage while creating new opportunities for audiences to connect with its legacy.
